1GB MTN Data Plan

MTN 1GB Data plan (formally 100MB, 200MB, 260MB, 1.5GB): This MTN data plan offers 24/7 internet access for 30 days at N1,000. The browsing bundle is limited to 1GB data. Our this MTN data plan offers a bonus of 500MB bringing the total data allowance to 1.5GB. However, the 500MB bonus can only be used between 1 am and 7 am in the morning. 1GB MTN data plan is best suited for browsing directly on your mobile phone.

To migrate to this 30-day MTN Data Plan SMS 116 to 131.

Make sure you have at least N5,000 on your account before migrating. Once migration is successful N5,000 will automatically be deducted from your MTN account. The 10GB MTN data plan is recommended for heavy users on high-speed (4G / 3G/HSDPA) coverage.
22GB MTN Data Plan

The 22GB Data Plan is another exciting package from MTN. This MTN Data plan is the best if used with a wireless router to build a hotspot in your home or office. With the hotspot you can connect multiple devices smartphones, laptops, desktop, set top boxes, etc. You get 24/7 (always on) Internet access for a 30-day period at a price of 10,000 NGN. 24 hours browsing bundle: MTN offers a daily internet data plan. This internet browsing bundle allows subscribers to pay daily for 150MB bulk internet access. You pay for this service any day you want to browse the internet. Just pay N200 any day you want to browse and you will get 24 hours internet browsing access from MTN limited to 150MB data.

The 24 hours MTN data plan, will appeal to customers who currently spend a couple of hours a week browsing internet in cyber cafes, especially if they already have a computer at home/office. This is a very good plan, it is cheap and convenient however you may find it wanting if you want 24/7 access. This internet service is available to MTN prepaid users only.

How to Register for JAMB CBT 2018

1.The first thing you will need to do, is to create a confirmation code with your phone, by sending your "Surname Firstname Othername" to 55019. They will charge you #50 for the SMS.

After you've done that, you will receive a confirmation code from JAMB.

2. After you will go to the bank (UBA , Firstbank, Union bank etc) to purchase the JAMB E-pin. When you get to the bank, ask for instruction from any of the bank staffs you see. You will be asked to provide the confirmation code which JAMB sent to your phone, they will need it in order to generate your E-pin.

3. Now that you have purchased the JAMB E-pin, you can now go to any JAMB CBT registered centre you know. You will be asked to provide your o'level result, JAMB E-pin, your confirmation code, and your passport or snap you by Webcam or Camera.

4. After you have successfully registered for the JAMB 2018, you will be given a print out of the JAMB registration and also the compulsory storybook.

NOTE: The total cost of everything is #6200 only. The breakdown is as follows: 

JAMB E-pin + storybook =#5000 + #500 ( to be paid together in the bank)
CBT registration fee= #700 (to be paid after you have successfully registered for JAMB 2018)

You should also know that the phone number you use to recieve the confirmation code must have not been used to register for JAMB before. It must be new to JAMB.

JAMB accredits 72 centres in Lagos

JAMB accredits 72 more centers in Lagos ahead of the mock and main examinations in 2018.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has accredited 72 centres in Lagos State ahead of the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The State Coordinator, Mr. Sunday Aladegbaye, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos, that 63 centres were accredited for the examination this year.

He also stated that the increase showed that more candidates were likely to take the 2018 Computer-Based UTME.

“Preparations are in top gear for the examination in the state.

“We have accredited 72 centres that have met our requirements for the conduct of the mock and the main examination in 2018. “But this figure can increase,” said by Aladegbaye.

He then warned mischief makers against setting up strange centres for registration, in a bid to defraud innocent Nigerians.

He added that experience has shown that some group of persons will create a strange website in the name of JAMB and be registering candidates to defraud them.

“This is misleading just as it is criminal.

“We also wish to reach out to candidates to go to only approved centres for their registration.

He the Strongly warned that "We (JAMB) will not be accountable for anything that happens to them."

JAMB warns network providers over multiple UTME charges

JAMB warns Network Provider Over Multiple UTME and DE Charges and any Candidate that fall victim should kindly report.

The Joint admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Thursday, issued a statement warning telecommunication companies to stop overcharging candidates for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE).

In their statement, the board said mobile network providers should charge only N50 per SMS as agreed term.

More also,  JAMB’s Head of Media, Fabian Benjamin, said: “The attention of the board has been drawn to multiple SMS charges on candidates phone numbers attempting to register for the 2018 UTME and DE by telecommunications companies enlisted to provide profile code creation services through sending and receiving of SMS.

“The telecom companies are meant to charge only N50 per SMS to use the service. Candidates are made to repeat these SMS commands several times either due to poor network or processing failure leading to rapid responses after the command is sent.

“The board therefore implore telecom service providers to stop the multiple charges and stick to the agreement reached with the board.”

Mr Benjamin then advised candidates who fall victims of multiple charges to raise a complaint support ticket on support.jamb.gov.ng.

Benin Republic Pull out Globacom’s Operating Licence

Globacom's Operating Licence has been pull out in Benin Republic.

The information reaching us is that Benin Republic’s telecommunications regulator has withdrawn the operating licence of Nigerian mobile telecoms company, Globacom’s local unit in a dispute over new terms, according to a document seen by Reuters.

The regulator, ARCEP-Benin, said it took the decision after negotiations with Glo Mobile Benin to renew its licence broke down earlier this month after the company refused new conditions imposed by the government.

The Officials with the parent company, which is owned by one of Nigerian billionaire, Mike Adenuga, were not immediately available for comment.

The ARCEP document did not state what the government’s new conditions were, but a source close to the regulator, who asked not to be named, said they included an increase in the cost of the licence.

The Glo Mobile Benin said it had over 1.6 million subscribers in 2015, according to the most recent statistics available on ARCEP’s website.

9Mobile Bidders in Accord ahead of December 31 Deadline

Four 9Mobile bidders are currently in alliance against one another in the race to secure the telecommunications firm.

The Financial Advisor, Barclays Africa, has a mandate in its agreement with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the lending bank to get an investor for 9Mobile, formerly Etisalat on or before December 31, 2017 through a transparent process.

At the beginning of this week, five bidders out of 10 made the final list, of which one is expected to emerge as the preffered bidder to take over 9Mobile assets and liabilities by end of year.

The five bidders are Globacom, Airtel, Smile Communications, Helios and Teleology Holdings Limited.

However, Technology Times, an online news platform, yesterday disclosed that four of the bidders have decided to be in accord against the remaining bidder in order to be able to emerge as the preferred bidder, so if the four bidders agree, the tie-up may seal the deal between two contenders.

The report reaching us states that the architects of the alliance plan to pool resources that would bring to the table a good offer that would guarantee that they secure majority stakes to control 9Mobile, It was also added that it was not yet known if they would create a Joint Venture (JV) vehicle to advance their plan to gain ownership of the firm.

Market analysts suggest that beyond buying 9Mobile, parties in favour of the accord believe that it would change the fortunes of the mobile network operator, as the combined entity post sale will become the biggest mobile phone company in Nigeria.

Accordingly, the details of the plan are being kept a secret to forestall likely unexpected consequences that may avert closing the purchase deal.

The telecommunications firm is being sold after regulators saved it from collapse when the investment fund and Etisalat exited the country in June following the default of a $1.2 billion loan.

Market analysts believe that the battle for the soul of 9Mobile rest strictly between Globacom and Airtel because of their financial war chest and experiences in the Nigerian market.

Should either be successful in the bid, the additional connections would see them overtake MTN as market leader.

50 Decoders to be Won by Fans at GOtv Boxing Night 13

50 Decoders to be won by the fans coming to watch boxing and music performance at GOtv Boxing Night coming up on December 26, 2017.

Fans that will coming to watch boxing action and musical performances at GOtv Boxing Night 13 have the opportunity of going home with 50 GOtv decoders at the event holding on December 26 at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island Lagos.

Decoders are to be won through raffle draws to be held in between fights at the event, which will feature musical performances by Small Doctor, Simi, Reekado Banks and Falz The Bahd Guy.

Flykite Productions says organisers of the event, the decoders are to be given out by the sponsors, GOtv, in appreciation of fans’ support for the event since it began three years ago.

Seven fights, including two African Boxing Union (ABU) title duels and a West African Boxing Union (WABU) title fights are scheduled. The headline bout will see Nigeria’s Oto ‘Joe Boy’ Joseph attempt to win the vacant ABU lightweight title when he fights Abdulrahim Ahmed of Egypt.

Joseph’s compatriot, Olaide ‘Fijaborn’ Fijabi will fight for the ABU light welterweight title against Shadrack ‘Punch to Punch’ Kobero of Tanzania. Abolaji ‘Afonja Warrior’ Rasheed, incumbent WABU middleweight champion, will defend his title against Arye Ayiiteh of Ghana.

More also in the light welterweight category, Rilwan ‘Baby Face’ Babatunde will fight for the national title against Chijioke ‘Painless’ Ngige. 

Three challenge contests are equally scheduled with Jimoh ‘Hogan Jimoh Jr.’ Lukman taking on Rilwan ‘Scorpion’ Opatola, while Rilwan ‘Real One’ Oladosu takes on Kazeem ‘Ijoba’ Badmus.

Diamond Bank, NYSC Open Portal for Graduate Employment

Diamond Bank and NYSC to Open Job Portal for the Corps Members.

One of the most popular bank in Nigeria known as Diamond Bank Plc and the National Youth Service Corps have introduced a curriculum vitae web repository and job portal as part of efforts to enhance employment for corps members.

Mr . Robert Giles, said that in accepting to be part of the portal project , the bank realised that youths needed more of information beyond banking.

Mr Giles also said that the youths need a platform to showcase themselves and their talents and it was a good thing that the NYSC bought into the initiative .

“We are proud to work with you ( NYSC ) and are committed to ensuring the sustainability of this initiative , ’’ he added.

According to the Director - General, NYSC, Brig. Gen. Sule Kazaure, the portal is an initiative of the NYSC Lagos State coordinator, the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development team and a group of corps members.

“The portal is aimed at providing the links between outgoing corps members seeking white collar jobs and employers of labour who desire to employ qualified graduates based on their jobs specifications, ”he said during the launch of the portal in Lagos.

Kazaure said that despite the obvious difficulty in securing white-collar jobs and the overriding benefits of self-employment, many graduates were still inclined to trying their luck with paid employment .

He said, “The portal we are launching will among other benefits, serve as a platform for corps members to get information on job vacancies and market themselves to prospective employers, serve as a large pool for employers searching for suitable candidates, and provide means of verification of credentials.”

The NYSC boss said the NYSC had been taking steps to empower corps members for self-employment through the SAED programme and the in-camp and off-camp trainings in various skill areas, in partnerships with the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bank of Industry through which corps entrepreneurs benefit from start-up loans at single-digit interest rates.

The Vice-President, Business Development West, Sigma Pensions Limited, Mrs. Mabel George, said, “Our job is basically about helping people to plan for their future and with this portal, it makes everyone employable.

“We are so excited that people can get employed and in turn have savings for their future. I see this as a wonderful initiative by the NYSC. We are here pledging our continuous support to this cause and anything that is going to help this country to become greater we always want to play a part of it .”

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced date for 2017 Batch B, stream 2 Corps members.

The orientation course was said to hold between Tuesday 16th January 2018, to Monday 5th February 2018.
