Sony Xperia E5: Review, Specifications And Price

Sony unveiled the Sony Xperia E5 smartphone on May 31 at an event in London, the beautiful device has received lots of positive reviews. Sony is focusing on every day, mid-range performance and reliability for its recently unveiled Xperia E5. But this smartphone is no push over. The E5 has some interesting features and the hardware specs look like they will deliver. Below are the unique features of Sony Xperia E5

Camera and Storage

The Sony Xperia E5 packs the sort of cameras we now expect to see on most smartphones at this price point. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and HDR which should let you capture sharp images without wasting precious time.

You get a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Onboard storage capacity is 16 GB, enough to hold several thousands of photos. This is extendable by up to 200 GB using a microSD card.

Performance and OS

The Sony Xperia E5 is powered by a quad-core processor, which some may consider a bit disappointing especially considering it is one by MediaTek rather than Qualcomm.

The 1.3GHz MT6735 chipset is assisted by manageable 1.5 GB of RAM, with graphics processing seen to by a Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. The Sony Xperia E5 boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, which is the latest iteration of the Google software.

Build and Screen

While an attractive phone, the Sony Xperia E5 is a bit undone by the fact that the rear panel is made of plastic – after all, a good number of devices in this range these days sport a metal body.

It is 8.2mm thick and weighs 147 grams. The Sony Xperia E5 is fitted with a 5-inch diagonal display with an HD resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. A pixel density of about 294 pixels per inch promises decently sharp images.

Other Features

Battery life appears to be what Sony considers to be a main selling point of its Xperia E5. While a 2,700mAh battery might not sound exactly awesome, the Japanese company claims this juicer will support up to two full days of use.

The Sony Xperia E5 supports 4G LTE (Cat. 4) connectivity for super-fast mobile data speeds. Somewhat interestingly, it also offers NFC support.

Pricing and Availability

Sony Xperia E5 is not yet available in Nigeria. When available, you can buy the smartphone at leading online stores in the country. Sony Xperia E5 Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N65,000 to N100,000 depending on your location in Nigeria.
